Hello fellow Boggle lovers! I hope you can join us for this fabulous event! (Last year's winner is a bit too sure of himself - I'd like to get some REAL players in there to liven things up.)

Second Annual No-Limit Celebrity Boggle Tournament!
Host: Crowded Fire Theater Company
Location: Z Space
131 10th Street @ Mission, 3rd F., San Francisco, CA
When: Monday, April 24, 6:00pm
Crowded Fire - the theater company for smartypants - invites you to put your love of language and your competitive spirit to the test at the Second Annual No-Limit Celebrity Boggle Tournement!

For those of you who missed it last year, a refesher on the Competitive Format:

First and foremost, there are unlimited adult beverages, to go along with salty snacks and other munchables.

To join the tournament, you make a $20 contribution to Crowded Fire. Then pick your skill level: Low Key or Hyper-Competitive. Competition ensues, in a non-elimination pyramid format that leads to the finals. Outstanding performances at any level will be rewarded with fabulous prizes.

There will be a lexicographer on site to settle all disputes. If that fails, there will be thumb wrestling. There are ridiculously detailed rules about which kinds of words are ineligible.

Last year's prizes included theatre tickets, Giants tickets, a gift certificate to Samovar Lounge, Boggle pens, and a life-sized Officer Wiggum doll. Who knows what will be on hand this year.

All this for a measly twenty bucks. Enjoy adult beverages, earn bragging rights, win valuable schwag, and help get Crowded Fire on track for their next season. Maybe even meet your future spouse.

Calling all bay area players

Boggle players, that is. I boggled a bunch over the holidays with the fam and now I'm sort of fiending for a game. I see a few requests for games on here, but they're all fairly old, so figured I'd just start a new thread. Send me a message if you'd like to play sometime, preferably at one of the many wonderful dive bars in The Mission. Berkeley also works for me.

Anyone know of a web site where I can play Boggle online while I sit here idly at work? The hard part is I need something that doesn't have the word "games" in the title/subject, since our evil IS dept screens and blocks sites that seem to have no useful purpose while at work.

I can't believe I've found others that love Boggle as much as I do! I play almost everyday at www.playsite.com. Not as speedy as some, but it's a way to play with my bestest buddy who lives in Montreal (I'm in CA).

So what do I do but buy a used (totally cool game from 1976) boggle game at a church yard sale in Northern Cali on a road trip. What do I do? I leave it at my friends folks place in Northern Cali.

I live in Seattle. Is it worth waiting for until next year or having mailed to me?

Perhaps I should just go out and buy a new one.

i've got electronic, hand-held boggle but often copy out the grids they give you to study from, and usually spend a great portion of my day doing so. you all claim to be undefeated or close; well, i can say the same. only one person has beat me consistently, and he's one of those jumble people.

anyhow, i would really like to organize a boggle night in either berkeley or oakland, and it would be great to play with you guys if you are as good as you say. so let me know and we'll set something up!

Since we are the only 11 people I know (okay I know maybe 2 others) who like to play Boggle, why don't we get together and play? I don't know where that would be, since I don't know where you all live (I'm in L.A.), my place is tiny, and Boggle is kind of noisy for a cafe setting. But I thought I'd just throw that out there to start a discussion. Oh, and I'll kick all your asses by the way--I am the Boggle Queen!

last night in a serious match between Stefaroo and Jordana, Jordana distinguished herself by gaining 28 points to Stefaroo's 54, losing by only 26 points... Not bad for a mere mortal....the girl has got potential.
